Examples:
If you never make an error, it's a good bet you are not doing anything.
Keeping a record book and enter the date of contact - how contacted (i.e. U.S. Mail, e-mail, phones, etc.)
Staying busy. It's not unusual for me to spend hours in the office at home, sometimes past midnight. Too busy to take the time to use the teaching tools built into the computer.
Interest. You will find interest will increase as you have success and you will find success breeds success.
Keeping it simple. This is the hard one to accomplish, but computers have surely helped. They can be very intimidating to someone my age, but we can learn and as we learn it becomes more simple.
Talk. Look for every chance you can to tell others about the SAR and who we are. When you make yourself available and friendly to the DAR, they will ask for you to speak at their meetings. I have been invited to speak at three different DAR chapters in the last year. When the ladies hear about the SAR and all the great or famous men who have been members, they often will give you their husband's name and sons and grandsons names.
Enjoy. You must enjoy the job you are doing or nothing you do will be a success.
Negative thinking won't work. I've had some tell me, "Oh, just forget that one, he's not worth the effort". Every member should be worth caring about.
Create opportunities, wear your rosette, accept chapter and state office, don't be afraid to talk to strangers.
Eager to spend Energy and then the Elation will come.
