The Americanism Middle School Brochure Contest

  • Middle School students, including private, church-based and home-schooled students in the 6th, 7th, 8th or 9th grade, and/or members of Scouting, C.A.R.

  • Tri-fold brochure on 8.5” x 11” paper, presenting information on one of these five subjects: Articles of Confederation, Declaration of Independence, U.S. Constitution, Bill of Rights, or Federalist Papers.

Arthur M. & Berdena King Eagle Scout Scholarships

  • Eagle Scout who has not reached his 19th birthday during the year of the contest and exhibits outstanding leadership experience and good citizenship/community involvement.

  • Four generation ancestor chart and 500-word essay

George S. & Stella M. Knight Essay Contest 

  • High school student, 9th through 12th grade, attending home school, public, parochial, or private high school.

  • An original 800- to 1,200-word essay based on an event, person, philosophy or ideal associated with the American Revolution, Declaration of Independence, or the framing of the United States Constitution.

Enhanced JROTC Contest & Scholarship

  • ROTC or JROTC Cadet

  • The recipient is selected by the Commanding Officer of the ROTC or JROTC unit. The cadet is selected for having a high degree of merit with respect to leadership qualities, military bearing, and general excellence.

D.G. High / Joseph S. Rumbaugh Historical Oration Contest

  • High school student, 9th through 12th grade

  • 5 to 6 minute speech, delivered from memory
